To put it through its paces, we spent a few days in the top-of-the-range GT-Line to see how this sedan handles the Brisbane lifestyle.

What are our initial impressions of the K4?

The all-new Kia K4 makes a bold statement with a longer, wider, and lower stance than the Cerato.

Its sleek front end reflects Kia’s latest design language, seen in models like the Sorento, while the sporty silhouette and sharp lines give it a modern, head-turning presence on the road.

It’s a significant step up from the Cerato in terms of style, with a more refined and futuristic look that truly impressed us.

Step inside, and you’re welcomed by a stunning 75-centimetre panoramic display, complete with a 5” climate cluster that keeps key vehicle information at your fingertips.

Kia has kept physical radio and climate controls for ease of use, ensuring you’re always in command.

The GT-Line elevates comfort with stylish, white-accented artificial leather seats that are both heated and ventilated.

And while the redesigned steering wheel might feel different at first, we found it glides effortlessly through your hands, adding to the overall driving experience.

How does the K4 perform on the road?

The GT-Line is powered by a punchy 1.6L turbo engine paired with an 8-speed automatic, delivering an impressive 142kW and 265Nm of torque—perfect for zipping through city streets or taking on open roads.

It also offers a slight fuel efficiency edge over the Cerato GT, with a quoted 6.5L/100km in the GT-Line and 7.4L/100km in other K4 models.

Behind the wheel, the K4 feels effortless to drive, thanks to Kia’s latest driving assistance and safety features, making every journey smooth and stress-free.

The low-set nature of the car contributes to a particularly quiet ride, with minimal road noise and a calm, composed feel, even at higher speeds.

It’s a pleasant surprise, as the K4 feels incredibly refined and stable on the road, making long drives to the Gold Coast just as enjoyable as short city commutes.

How practical is the K4?

With 508L of luggage space and a roomy back seat, the K4 is built for family life, offering smart storage solutions to keep everyone happy on the go.

Even from the base model, you’ll enjoy the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The second row provides plenty of legroom for lanky teenage passengers, along with dual USB-C charging ports and clever storage options to keep things tidy and within reach.

How much does the K4 cost?

The Kia lineup starts with the base model S at $32,990 drive away, but if you’re after something extra special, the GT-Line is available from $46,990 drive away.

It’s worth noting that any colour outside of Clear White comes with an additional $600 charge, adding a touch of customisation to your choice.

Step into the GT-Line, and you’ll find thoughtful premium touches like ambient mood lighting, a sunroof, sleek 18” alloy wheels, and the immersive Harman/Kardon premium sound system—features that make every drive feel a little more special.
