Motorama Brisbane Queensland Election 2015

The Queensland State Election on January 31! Elections are a time to make your voice heard about the issues that affect you, your family and your livelihood, as well as enjoy a sausage sizzle or some carrot cake to support the community.

But if you’d rather have a sleep-in or get out early for a sneaky trip away, take back your weekend and head to the polls early by voting at a pre-polling booth.

Pre-polling closes at 6pm on Friday January 30 – if you’re at work, it’s perfect to head out on your lunch break or on your way home.

The Electoral Commission of Queensland has a handy map of all the pre-polling centres in your electorate – plus the all-districts booths that will let you vote for any electorate if you’re away from the electorate you’re registered to vote in.

There are all-district pre-polling booths in the Brisbane CBD, Gold Coast (Southport and Burleigh), Sunshine Coast (Noosa), Bundaberg, Cairns, Mackay and Maroochydoore.

Remember to bring your license or another form of ID, so you can be ticked off the electoral roll.

If you can’t get away to a pre-polling booth, voting starts at 8am on Saturday and finishes at 6pm and is usually held at a state school or another community building in your electorate.
