Motorama's 2022 Community Donation Program
Supporting our local community is one of the core values at Motorama.
Every year, through our Community Donation Program, we donate $100,000 to three organisations that support the local community.
In 2022, any customer that purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Motorama had the option to select one of these charities that we would donate to on their behalf. Choosing just one charity seems to be the hardest decision for many of our customers. Here are the three charities we supported in 2022, including how Motorama's Community Donation Program will help further support their work.
FOODBANK QUEENSLAND
Foodbank Queensland provides millions of kilograms of food and groceries to 350 front line charities and 300 school breakfast programs each year. They give food and hope to more than 150,000 Queenslanders in need each week.
Some of the foods most helpful for Queenslanders facing food insecurity include; pasta, rice, pasta sauce, UHT milk and canned vegetables. Unfortunately, we don’t receive enough donated products to meet demand and must purchase these products with the help of our supporters like Motorama. Thanks to Foodbank Queensland’s strong food industry relationships, we are able to buy products at incredible rates and turn every $1 invested, into $2 retail value of food. This year, Motorama's support means Foodbank Queensland will be able to supply over 44,000 meals to Queenslanders facing hunger!

STARLIGHT CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION
The Starlight Children's Foundation aims to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children, teenagers and their families. Starlight helps sick kids forget their illness, turning pain, fear and stress into fun, joy and laughter.
Motorama's support makes a vital impact on the lives of children and families coping with serious illness. The moment a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, life as they know it is turned upside down. Suddenly, smiles disappear and life is filled with hospital, treatment and pain. Being seriously ill shouldn't mean missing out on the fun of childhood.
Starlight knows there is more to treating an illness than just medicine, that is why they work hand in hand with health professionals. Play, art, games and creativity are all important to a child’s wellbeing and that helps overall health too. Starlight disrupts the relentless cycle of pain, stress and trauma and offers a welcome break so that kids can simply be kids. When a once-bright life becomes dulled by needles, hospital visits and painful treatments, Starlight helps sick kids forget their illness and re-discover the joy of childhood.
Thanks to Motorama's donation, Starlight will be able to support over 1,400 sick kids by helping to replace the fear and pain of hospitalisation with fun and laughter.
WHITE CLOUD FOUNDATION
White Cloud Foundation is a Queensland-based charity focused on providing both practical and clinical support for people struggling with depression and anxiety.
White Cloud Foundation would like to thank those Motorama customers who elected White Cloud as their charity choice for Motorama to donate to on their behalf as a part of their Community Donation Program in 2022. With the donations this year, White Cloud will be able to continue to operate and grow its two main services - Meals for Mums & White Cloud Tele-Mental Health - both of which have grown substantially during 2022 and are now operating right across Queensland.
White Cloud's services are needed now more than ever as rates of depression and anxiety continue to grow due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19, the rising cost of living, the housing crisis, and a range of other factors. White Cloud's aim is to treat and support people in the early stages to stop depression and anxiety in its tracks and prevent it from becoming a real problem. White Cloud also wants to remove all the stigmas attached with seeking help such as cost, accessibility, and the need for a mental health condition diagnosis. That's why the White Cloud Tele-Mental Health service is free. There are short waiting times for appointments, no travel required to attend appointments, and you don't need a GP referral or mental health plan.
Motorama's support means White Cloud has been able to help over 2,000 Queenslanders struggling with depression and/or anxiety this year.
