Media Release: Motorama Has Announced That It Has Signed an Agreement to Sell to Servco Australia

Long standing Queensland Automotive Business Motorama has announced that it has signed an agreement to sell to Servco Australia.

Mark Woelders Motorama’s Managing Director and 3rd generation owner said, “’Motorama has built a strong reputation servicing the wider SEQ Market for over 60 Years”. “Selling the business has been one of the hardest decisions the family has had to make”.

Motorama has sold and serviced vehicles in the SEQ for over 63 years and has many brands like Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, MG, Jeep, and more recently Chery. Motorama also pioneered large scale Used Car retailing with its store, Big Box Cars. Motorama employs over 700 staff across the wider Brisbane area, with revenues exceeding $800 million.

The company was originally founded by Jan and Anita Woelders in 1960. Their son John then ran the company for 30 years, before passing on to Mark,  as third generation Managing Director in 2007.

Mark Woelders said, “We have always been proud of the Motorama Business”, from a small Holden Car Dealership in Beenleigh with 5 employees to what has become one of Queensland’s largest Automotive Groups. The decision to sell was right for the family and we feel extremely comfortable that the company is in great hands with Servco Automotive. Servco have a similar ethos to business which is to look after its employees and customers, key ingredients of our success”, Mark said.

Servco Australia is based in Brisbane and operates 23 dealerships across the country. The parent company, Servco Pacific Inc., is Hawaii based and holds the distributorship for the Toyota, Lexus and Subaru brands.  Servco Pacific Inc. also owns the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.

The Woelders family will continue to operate the Madill Automotive Group on the Sunshine Coast as this does not form part of the transaction.
