Motorama Great Tastes: Cheesecake Filled Strawberries

The weather has been beautiful and there’s an abundance of choice for vegetables and reasonably priced fruit this week from the Brisbane Produce Market! For the great healthy choice of Broccoli or your sweet Corn fix, there will be a premium to pay this week. 

However if you’re still in the mood for some great winter dishes Cabbage, Carrots, Snow Peas, Onions Potatoes are some of the best buys for this week. Foodies during the annual Royal Queensland Show (aka. The Ekka), have associated the taste of Strawberries and this year is no different. There’s a large number of juicy berries used in ice creams, desserts and with many punnets on display at the show, they are super tasty, and at their lowest prices.

  • 500grams of Strawberries
  • 250grams of light cream cheese; softened
  • 3-4teaspoons of icing sugar
  • 1teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Wholemeal biscuit crumbs


Rinse strawberries and cut around the top of the strawberry. Remove the top and clean out with a paring knife, if necessary. Prep all strawberries and set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, icing sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy. Add cream cheese mix to a piping bag or ziplock bag with the corner cut off. Fill strawberries with cheesecake mixture. Once strawberries are filled up, dip the top in Wholemeal biscuit crumbs. 

 If not serving immediately, refrigerate until serving.
