So you have finally made the decision your car has to go, but have no idea where to start.

Selling privately

Selling a car privately is one way some people choose to sell a car that they no longer have a need, want or desire to own.

However, unlike trading or selling your car to a dealer, there are a few steps that you should take to ensure that you have a well-presented car to increase your chances of selling.

These include:

  • Road worthy certificates (or Safety Certificate)
  • Any repairs or improvements to meet the Safety Certificate

The Sale:

  • Test driving with purchaser
  • Negotiating a sale price with purchaser
  • Transferring registration to a new purchaser

TIP: In Queensland, all pre-owned vehicles must undergo a Safety Certificate before they can be sold or transferred

Selling to a dealer

At Motorama we don’t just sell cars, we buy cars too! In fact, many of our 800+ used cars come from customers looking to sell their existing car. They make great stock as they are typically well maintained & in good condition.

Even if you’re not looking to buy a new or used car, you can come to us and get a free valuation on your car.

After you receive your valuation, you can either choose to sell to us or not! There’s no obligation at all. We’re here to help.

Just drive it in!

It’s a simple process to sell your car to us;

  1. Visit our "Million Dollar Buying Drive" site
  2. Simply drive your car in as is, bringing with you the required documentation
  3. If you decide to sell us your car, we arrange all the registration transfers, or will pay out any finance contracts.

TIP: We do recommend that you bring your log books with the car’s service history. This allows us to assess how well maintained the vehicle has been, and is a key variable in the valuation of your car.

That’s it!

In just 30 minutes you can sell your car to us, and it’s out of your hair! No need to wait for a phone call from a stranger who will want to take it for a test drive and then haggle a deal.

You don’t need to update your insurance or even get your car serviced.

So if you’re thinking about selling your car, visit a Motorama dealership near you. Simply follow the link and we can take care of the rest!
