Mitsubishi has announced the launch of an all-new Triton to replace the current model, which is nearing its eighth birthday.
Here’s what we know.
From the global launch, we can see that the styling has been updated to achieve aerodynamic performance while still retaining the traditional styling cues reflecting it’s light commercial heritage.
One of the biggest changes to the Triton is the introduction of a six-speed manual transmission as standard, replacing the five-speed unit of the current model. A five-speed automatic transmission will also be available as an option.
A new, all-aluminium 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel engine is expected to produce 133kw of power and 430Nm of torque, continuing the Triton’s legacy of durable, powerful motoring.
The all new Triton is expected to raise the bar from the current generations car-like steering performance, quietness and comfort in the light commercial vehicle segment.
For passengers, Mitsubishi has increased cabin room all round with more rear legroom, front headroom and shoulder room for increased passenger comfort.
The new Triton is expected to launch mid-2015, with further details and pricing to be confirmed closer to the launch.
