The calendar at Motorama is chock full of new cars arriving on the showroom floor.
Here’s a list of all the new Kia’s arriving.
The new Rio hopes to continue the strong sales of the outgoing model, with a brand new vehicle – but unchanged pricing.
Reimagining the Rio away from the rounded shape of the last model, the new hatch goes upmarket with its new squared off look – a more mature image, especially since it also gains a bump up in wheelbase to make it larger.
The previous Rio already had runout pricing applied – expect stock to dry up sooner rather than later.
Only launched last year, the outgoing Picanto model was Kia dipping its toe in the waters to see how buyers would react. Now that people are used to the smallest Kia in the range, they have decided to unleash an all-new model – with significant upgrades, including technology and safety upgrades.
Details are still thin, but with the current Picanto already sitting at $14,990 – runout pricing could send that price even lower.
The biggest surprise announcement out of the Korean’s was the head turning announcement they are developing a brand new, rear-wheel drive sports sedan – not their usual stomping ground.
Even more surprising was that Kia Australia had secured an allocation to be sold late in the year or early in 2018. Rumours swirl that the 3.3L V6 option will displace the Optima GT Turbo as the halo car for Kia dealerships, with price tags starting in the low $40,000s for the entry four-cylinder and low $50,000s for the Stinger GT.
